Let’s take a look back at Saturday night’s games in the fed, including some entertaining games.
Dashers 1, Carolina 9
Hey, they scored a goal. Serious shoutout to all the players who came in for the Dashers.
Motor City 3, Binghamton 7
The Black Bears are RED HOT! 15 IN A ROW. Yates with 200 points as a Black Bear. 2+2 for Stubbs in front of a sold out crowd.
Watertown 9, Venom 5
Big win for the Wolves in Poughkeepsie, Gaeta with a Hat Trick. Leeson is back with a goal and assist. Two goals for the Venom’s Belov.
Athens 5, Blue Ridge 3
The Bobcats did score a couple late, but it was ALL Rock Lobsters. 2+2 for Milan.
Baton Rouge 6, Mississippi 1
This game will be mentioned for the wrong reasons. Firstly, Haggerty scored two and got two assists for the Zydeco. Good win in goal for Stephens in goal. But then…
Late in the game, Justin Barr did something unthinkable, even for a classy guy like him.
It’s been completely frustrating in Mississippi this year, as the Sea Wolves are now eliminated from playoff contention. But things got to a boiling point. It’s a shame, and Justin Barr is not that guy, at least in the past. Just completely shocking.
Port Huron 5, Danbury 6 (F/SO)
Easily the best game of the night. Port Huron got out to a 4-1 lead after two, and were really dominating the Hat Tricks on the ice. But when the third started, Danbury clicked offensively. Three goals in the first five minutes of the period, including a tying goal by Jonny Ruiz and two PPGs.
But with under seven minutes to go, Connor McCollum tripped on the back of the net, leading to an open net shot for Lukas Lacny. Port Huron had the lead at 5-4. But with under 90 seconds to go, Dylan Hullaby tipped in a shot that set the roof off at the DIA.
After overtime, we would go to a shootout where the teams traded goals and saves, and then Gleb Bandurkin won it for Danbury in the eighth round.
Hullaby scored two to lead all scorers in Danbury tonight in one of the best games of the entire season.
