Let’s take a look at Friday’s games around the FPHL. Lots of fun games

Dashers 0, Binghamton 9

36 losses in a row for the Dashers, 16 wins in a row for the Black Bears. Hat Trick for Captain Kirkby. Dakota Bohn continues his case for Defenseman of the year with a one goal and three assist night. Easy 14 save shutty for Nolan Egbert.

Monroe 3, Athens 4 (F/SO)

The new-look Moccasins made their first visit of the year to Athens, and it didn’t take long for Houston Wilson to make his presence known, 40 seconds in with a goal. Monroe was up 3-1 early in the third before the Rock Lobsters stormed back. Two goals for Malik Johnson (Monroe fans must love that!) and Lavalliere goes perfect in the shootout to lift the Lobsters to a big win. Monroe gets a point, but lose two with Blue Ridge’s win. This game also saw the return of Yianni Liarakos to the Fed. He was removed from his indefinite suspension and traded to the Moccasins in the morning.

Venom 3, Blue Ridge 4

Blue Ridge controlled the first 50 minutes with goals by Martin, Godmere who has been unreal, Klinecky and Hall. But the Venom started to chip away until 3 minutes left when Poszar took a late penalty, and then when coming out of the box, he played the puck from the box, and then Tim Hanlon took a unsportsmanlike conduct penalty and the Bobcats were on a 5 on 3 for the rest of the game. 44 saves for Makar Sokolov in the losing effort.

Port Huron 3, Danbury 2 (F/OT)

Man, a Port Huron/Danbury playoff series would be so awesome. These teams play so tight. Both team’s head coaches, Ruiz and Graham with goals, including the latter getting the OT winner before McCollum got into it with Alex Johnson in front of the net, after Johnson griddy’d (a callback to last weekend). One more in the regular season series tomorrow.

Columbus 6, Motor City 3

The Rockers got out to an early 2-0 lead before the River Dragons turned it on and woke up. Kyle Heizner got his first goal as a River Dragon this season, he was one of six different scorers for Columbus.

Carolina 3, Watertown 2

The Wolves are slowly getting back to form. They are playing very close games against some top level opponents. Carolina did get off slow from the bus ride, but it was Zach White with two goals, and then three assists from Gus Ford. And then Clay Keeley scored the winner with just under four minutes to go.
