Let’s look at Saturday’s recaps as we begin March!
Dashers 1, Binghamton 7
17 wins in a row for the Black Bears, who were led by two goals by Scott Ramaekers. Dashers lose for the 37th straight game. Sell out crowd at the old arena in Bingo.
Port Huron 2, Danbury 3 (F/OT)
I might’ve said it last night, but I’ll say it again. A Danbury-Port Huron series would hit so good. What a game in Danbury. 2 for Ruiz. Graham with another goal, Luke James tied it late. Kyle Gonzalez with the GWG in OT. All three Player-Head Coaches with goals.
Monroe 2, Athens 4
Another Monroe lead blown. This time pretty quickly as Athens put two quick ones on Cody Karpinski who made his season debut tonight for the Moccs. Two goals for Malik Johnson, Two goals for Daniil Glukharev. Houston Wilson with his second goal in as many nights.
Columbus 7, Motor City 6 (F/OT)
The Rockers had an early lead for the second straight night, and they also blew it, this time with four goals in two minutes for Columbus. But Motor City did storm back and took the game to OT. Slachetka with the winner in OT for Columbus. Eli Rivers with a hatty for the Rockers. Justin MacDonald also scored two for the road side. Eight losses in a row for Motor City
Carolina 3, Watertown 2
Another really close game. 2/3rds of the Czech Line (or whoever’s healthy with Petr out) with goals, plus Bootz adds one too. Jan Salak with the winner late with under a minute to go.
Venom 4, Blue Ridge 3 (F/SO)
The Venom would not quit tonight. Including a huge SHG by Zaichyk. Jesseau with a goal and assist. In the shootout, Sharma stood tall and didn’t allow a goal. While the only goal was Kaleb Kinsky’s in his second pro game.
