Upset city tonight, let’s check it out!

Columbus 1, Carolina 4

Carolina had a miraculous comeback last night. Tonight, they dominated. 45 saves for Mario in a bounceback, and Gus Ford with a hatty. Carolina is 9 points up on Athens (who have three games in hand).

Venom 5, Danbury 4 (F/OT)

The Hat Tricks were up 4-3 late, until a tying goal by Nathan Butler with under four minutes to go. Then in OT, on the power play, Dzaniss Zaichyk ripped home the winner. First career goals for the Venom’s Kaleb Kinsky, Dixon Bowen, and Danbury’s Zach Ross. The Venom remain nine points behind the Rockers.

Athens 2, Port Huron 3 (F/SO)

A really hard fought game in Port Huron. Usual suspects with goals. Milan, Wiesblatt, and two for Lacny. The game would go to the shootout, where Austin Fetterly had the only goal, and Reid Cooper goes perfect in the shootout along with 35 saves.

Watertown 2, Motor City 3 (F/OT)

A much needed win for Motor City. Ricky Gonzalez with a HUGE performance in goal, making 37 saves. Chris Corgan with the overtime winner. Motor City still 9 ahead of the Venom.

Baton Rouge 3, Mississippi 4 (F/SO)

First game, and first win in the Scott Brand era for the Sea Wolves. A shootout win. Baton Rouge continues their mini-free fall. Blue Ridge is now a point behind them for home ice in the play-in, and Monroe getting some easy points in Danville. Bartlett with two, Piekarczyk with two. Ed Coffey has a good night in goal with 30 saves. Kim Miettinen scored for Baton Rouge, his first in his first game as a Zydeco.

Binghamton 2, Blue Ridge 5

Binghamton’s streak ends. Blue Ridge has stopped all three 10+ game win streaks in the FPHL this year. 55 SAVES for Greg Hussey, shutting down the high powered Black Bears offense. Justin Daly with two goals, Godmere gets another, and Brandon Reller gets his first as a Bobcat.

Monroe 9, Dashers 0

Shutout for Sean Kuhn! Two goals for Rex Moe, two Goals for Corey Cunningham, three assists for Yianni Liarakos, and a Gordie Howe Hat Trick for Moccasins Co-Owner/GM/Forward Parker Moskal (Corn dogs, Jackie! Corn dogs!) Dashers streak goes to 39.
