Whew boy, let’s get through the other games first, and then let’s talk about whatever happened in Wytheville.

Baton Rouge 2, Mississippi 3

The Seawolves sweep the Zydeco! Another goal for Ross Bartlett tonight. Maxwell Barrington gets the winner. First time that the Sea Wolves have won back to back games in over a year. Two assists for Blake Keller.

Venom 2, Danbury 4

Hat Tricks rebound tonight. Ruiz with two, Gonzalez with one. 44 save effort for Frankie in goal.

Athens 2, Port Huron 3

Prowlers get 9/9 points this weekend. Only three for Athens. Simmons-Fischer with a goal and fight! Goal and assist for Graham, and Virgili on the Athens side. Port Huron is a singular point behind Watertown, although the Wolves have two games in hand.

Watertown 4, Motor City 3

Rockers get goals from Rivers, Tellstrom and Corgan. Wolves though get a late PPG to take the lead by Trevor Lord. Three unanswered for Watertown to lift them past Motor City.

Binghamton 4, Blue Ridge 1

Let’s go there. For the scoring, four different scorers for the Black Bears. Godmere for Blue Ridge.

First, in the second, Cam Clark gets into it with Patrick Colgan, and then Poirier goes after Greg Hussey, and Hussey would have the better of Dustin in that fight. Mercurio then fights Fletcher in the later portion of the second. Thompson and Andreoli with some late period roughing into the break, before Scott Raemaekers gets involved with Alex Norwinski. Their nights would be done.

And then, the wheels came off. Blue Ridge had a line of their more tougher guys, Volf, Reller, Martin. And they pounced onto the Black Bears more skilled players like Kirkby, Stubbs and Stone. Then Connor McAnanama would get involved. Both coaches, Vojtech Zemlicka, and Brant Sherwood would get into it with each other. Keep in mind, they were teammates with the Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs. Tyson Kirkby also had a little altercation with the Bobcats Public Address Announcer in the penalty box. There was also some hullabaloo by the Binghamton Bench with Brant Sherwood.

Once the game was over, there was a total of 264 penalty minutes. 14 players and both Head Coaches were ejected from the game. There will be a LOT of suspensions and fines.

A real black eye to the FPHL, and both organizations, who I know are run by some good people too.
